Located in central Pasco County, the Cypress Creek Water Treatment Plant provides treatment, disinfection, ground storage and high service pumping from the Cross Bar Ranch and Cypress Creek wellfields and regional water. It delivers approximately 90 million gallons per day (mgd) of drinking water to the regional system.
This project is located on the north side of the Cypress Creek Water Treatment Plant and will replace a 72-inch butterfly valve that is no longer operable. This valve allows Tampa Bay Water to redirect water between two parallel pipes during maintenance.
The new valve will provide more reliable and redundant operations and ease of maintenance.
The budget for this project is $12.5 million for design and construction.
Construction will begin in late 2026 and is scheduled to be completed in late 2027.
This project has no public impact as all work is contained within Tampa Bay Water property.
